Ladonna attended Lincoln High School. After her graduation, she worked for the Lincoln Clinic, the Eye Surgical Associates, and then the Arthritis Center of Nebraska. She also volunteered at the Cotner Center. She married Thomas C. Gates on September 4, 1964, and together they had 2 children; Shari Lyman and Jon Gates.
Ladonna loved crossword puzzles, shows on TV, and anything to do with games. She always loved going on family trips, and spending time with her grandkids. She was everybody's biggest cheerleader. She was always there for everybody when they needed her. She adored her friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother; husband, Tom; and granddaughter, Jorri.
She is survived by her children, Shari Lyman and Jon Gates; grandchildren, Honna Moore, Lilli (Lucas) Brightwell, Renni Lyman, Conni Lyman, Walter Lyman, Tommy Lyman, and Jessi Lyman.
Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
