

LaVonne "Bonnie" Adeline Fletcher, age 96, of Wayne, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Countryview Care and Rehab in Wayne, Nebraska. Bonnie was born in Omaha, NE on March 2, 1925, lived in the Miller Park area and graduated from North High School in 1942. Following high school, she worked at the Nebraska Inspection Bureau and Hardware Mutual Insurance Co. where she met and married Howard Fletcher. After job transfers to Freeport, IL and Minneapolis, MN, they settled in Lincoln, NE, where they were active members of First Lutheran Church.
Bonnie enjoyed sewing and helping with children's activities through Campfire, the schools and her church. Later, she worked as a secretary/archivist for the NE State Historical Society and as a volunteer in the Lancaster County Attorney's Office. Her last years were spent in Wayne, NE where she made many new friends among the residents and staff at Kinship Pointe Senior Living and Countryview Care and Rehab.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, John and Theresa (Gallett) Kuppig; and her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Charles Stava. Bonnie is survived by her children, Deb (Bill) Dickey and Kris (Roger) Swenson; grandchildren, Jessica Lewis, Dacia Huggins, Alex Swenson and Erika Swenson; great grandchildren Easton and Von Lewis.
A private family graveside service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Lincoln, NE.
