Lawrence "Larry" Fransen Griffing, age 69, born February 22, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska to L. Dale and Emily (Frandsen) Griffing passed away on January 19, 2024. Larry attended Saratoga Elementary, Irving Junior High, and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1972.
Larry worked for various editions of the main Lincoln cablevision company for 30-plus years. Picking up undergraduate studies at UNL after a nearly 30-year absence, he graduated with a B.F.A. degree in 2003. Larry was a member of Gallery 9. His paintings are scattered among homes in Lincoln. Larry's other avocations were reading history and playing rugby.
He is survived by his brother, Marlon (Buster); and sister-in-law, Norma Cox of St. Paul, MN; nephew, Max Griffing of Fort Lauderdale; and niece, Lillie Griffing of West St. Paul. Preceded in death by his parents; and aunts and uncles.
Memorial service for Lawrence will be at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Reception Room, 6800 South 14th Street in Lincoln. Gathering will be from 1:00 -2:00 pm, reception following service.
