Leland L McClintock, 88, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Leland was born on December 6, 1936 in Pawnee City, NE to Earl and Myrtle McClintock. As one of seven children raised on a farm during the Great Depression, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for family.
He met his beloved wife Shirley while employed at Campbell’s Soup in Tecumseh and they were united in marriage on July 12, 1964. They had two daughters, Kathleen Marie (Holloway) and Brenda Sue (Hiland); both of Lincoln.
He pursued his education at the Lincoln School of Commerce where he obtained a degree in accounting. Following his graduation, he ventured into a new career by investing in a semi-trailer and began driving coast-to-coast moving people to their new homes. He was able to visit all the continental United States while working hard to support his family at home.
In 1978, he retired from truck driving after the passing of his wife. He then turned his focus to investing in rental properties; and flipped houses with his friend and brother-in-law Cliff Mayhugh. He also owned farmland in Otoe County.
He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley, his father Earl, his mother Myrtle, his brothers Elmer, Kenny, Louis and Lowell.
He is survived by his daughter Kathleen and her husband Ed Holloway; his daughter Brenda Hiland; granddaughters Elizabeth Holloway and Abby Hiland; sister Viola Espe of Pawnee City; and brother Clarence McClintock of Pawnee City; special nephew Raymond McClintock of Humboldt; and many other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Leland will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A celebration of life will take place Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
