

Lois Emly Bauer (nee Schaefer) of Lincoln passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 22nd, 2017 at the age of 85. Lois was born on September 17th, 1932 in Radville, Saskatchewan, Canada to Rev. Gerhard and Paula (nee Pieper) Schaefer. At the age of two Lois moved with her family from Canada to Iowa and grew up in a number of parishes where her father served as pastor. She was graduated from High School at Odebolt. She attended classes at Concordia in Seward, NE. Lois worked as a school teacher in a one room school house which was supported by Trinity Lutheran Church near Gladstone, NE. She met her husband Martin there. They married on June 14th, 1953 and settled in Lincoln, NE where she lived until her death. Lois shared her faith in Jesus with everyone around her and was passionate about teaching the saving word of God to others. She loved her family, read constantly to her children, wrote many stories, and created beautiful articles of clothing. She was always eager to learn and try new things. Lois is survived by her husband Martin; sons Steven and Kent; daughters Miriam, Lauralyn and Deborah; brothers David and Tim; sisters Carol and Laurel. She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Max, and granddaughter Emma. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 South 33rd Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. Burial will be at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gladstone, Nebraska, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2 pm. lincolnfh.com.
