

Martin "George" Dine born August 23,1949 died at his home near Crete with his wife Sandy by his side after a short battle with Lung Cancer November 3, 2020. He was born to Rupert and Mary (Toomey) Dine the family resided in Friend,NE. He attended Friend Public schools and graduated from high school in 1967.
George held many diverse occupations and was a dedicated employee of the Crete Mills for 38 years retiring at the age of 62. In 1997 he purchased the Broken Spoke Saloon in Friend and was the owner for 3 years.
George loved fishing, boating, partying and just having a good time. He was an avid gardener and gave away his excess bounties along with dehydrated apples, black walnuts (that he cracked and shelled) and many many pounds of asparagus. He was known by many and will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Dine, sister Rose Rhoades, father Rupert Dine and sister Sharon Cerveny.
His survivors include his wife of 23 years Sandy - Brother John Dine and wife Betty of Omaha, NE - Sisters in law Kay and husband Russ of Martell, Teresa and husband Doug Novak of Crete, Cindy and husband David Plouzek of Wilber and Brother in law Allan and his wife Samantha Daugherty of Auburn. Numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Cremation, no visitation.
