

Marilyn Bennett, age 91, of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, after a brief stay in hospice. Born May 14, 1934, in Topeka, KS, to Wendelin and Lidwina Wittman, she graduated from Hayden High School in Topeka before settling in Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her son Mike, grandson Joshua, siblings Jerry and Elmer Wittman, and her parents.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, William “Bill” Bennett, and children: Dan (Karla), Colleen (Mike) Danahay, Kerry (Randy) Miller, Kathy (Blake) Collingsworth, Brian, and Patrick (Nicole) Bennett, daughter-in-law Mary Ann Bennett, brother Wayne Wittman, 12 grand-children and 17 great-grandchildren.
A loving mother and co-owner of Adventure Travel, Marilyn enjoyed family time, travel, Nebraska Football, dancing, reading, and a glass of wine. Known for her boundless love and as “everyone’s mom,” she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memorial to the (JCMF) Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation in Marilyn’s memory, 8445 Executive Woods Drive, Lincoln NE 68512.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Michaels Catholic Church 9101 S 78th Street, Lincoln NE on June 7th, 2025 at 11:00 am. Rosary prior to service on Saturday June 7th, 2025 at 10:30 am.
