
Mary Louise (Schwartz) Frost, 81, passed away April 3, 2026. Born January 3, 1945, at Ft. Benning, GA, Mary was the daughter of Herbert and Helen (Worster) Schwartz. At the time she was born, Mary's father was in the army and stationed at Ft. Benning. After serving his time in the military, the family moved back home to Lincoln, NE. Mary graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1962.
Mary began her working life with KLIN Radio as an administrative assistant. She later devoted more than 40 years to Banker's Life Insurance, which later became Ameritas. At the time of her retirement in 2005, she was the longest tenured employee with Ameritas. Throughout her years of service, Mary held a variety of positions from Word Processing Manager, Complaint Coordinator and finally Individual Claims. She made many lasting friends during her time at Ameritas.
A thoughtful and creative person, Mary enjoyed needlepoint and painting for her home as well as for family and friends. Each gift she made was intricate and detailed.
Mary was a lifelong member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and attended several of their national conventions. She was very proud of her family's history in the years prior to their arrival in the United States. From the 1960s she was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her parents. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard "Rick" and Kay (Rudquist) Schwartz of Joplin, MO; her niece Stacy (Andrew) Rossow of Colorado Springs, CO; her nephew Ryan Schwartz of New York City; and her great-nephews Luke, Levi and Caleb Rossow. Her great-nephews were very special to Mary.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.
