

Mickey D. Kasparek of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away April 29, 2026, at the age of 66. Born May 20, 1959, in Blair, Nebraska, Mickey was the son of Kenneth and Marilyn (Cecrle) Kasparek. The family later relocated to Lincoln, where he graduated from Lincoln East High School.
With an early interest in the medicine, Mickey attained a paramedic certification through Creighton University. He later acquired a Qualified Medication Aid endorsement while he worked at Holmes Lake Manor. He would go on to spend many years in the medical field working as a scheduler for an Ear, Nose and Throat clinic as well as a Dentist.
Over the years he acquired an appreciation for a good cigar. Ted's Tobacco became the place where he and other 'Irregulars' would go to shop and spend time. Mickey also spent several years working at Ted's.
Mickey loved to tinker. He was always curious about how things were put together and how they worked. His mother was not too pleased when Mickey took apart her VCR. He self-taught his way around computers to the point where he did computer repairs.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marilyn Kasparek. He is survived by his daughter Emily Kasparek and son Alex Kasparek. Grand-dogs Ryla, Rebel, Temný Vlk and Dixie. He will also be remembered by his two sisters, Cynthia and Roxanne, nieces, nephews and many friends, including the 'Irregulars' from Ted's Tobacco.
A Celebration of Life with family will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, Nebraska.
