February 10, 1940 – May 1, 2025
Ronald Tweedy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on February 10, 1940, in Hartington, Nebraska, Ron was the only son of Albert and Iva Tweedy and the youngest of five children. He was preceded in birth by his four older sisters: Doretha, Lorraine, Ardis, and Phyllis.
In his late teens, Ron moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he attended high school at Lincoln Southeast. There he met, and later married, Shirley Hoy, and together they raised three daughters: Raejean, Patty, and Cindy.
A hardworking and determined man, Ron went on to found his own construction company—Home Care Services—which later became Foundation Improvement Company (FIC). The business was a labor of love, built with the help of family, friends, and a uniquely memorable crew that reflected Ron’s spirit and dedication.
In the 1970s, Ron met and married Judy Fetz. Their union brought together two families, including Judy’s sons: Randy, Shawn, and Jason Kirby. Together, they created a lively and loving home. Ron and Judy later welcomed their son, Ryan Tweedy.
Ron was known for his kindness, sharp wit, and gift for storytelling. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be remembered for the laughter he brought and the generosity he showed throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Tweedy; daughters Raejean Hamann, Patty Spurling, and Cindy (Gayle) Becwar; sons Jason (Michelle) Kirby and Ryan (Irina) Tweedy; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended family; and countless friends who loved and admired him. Though he has departed this life, his memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Preceded in death are his parents, Albert and Iva Tweedy; sisters Doretha, Lorraine (Ray) Woockman, Ardis (Tom) McFarland, and Phyllis (Jullian) Weslow; and stepsons Randy and Shawn Kirby.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 12:00 PM at Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S. 70th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. All who knew and loved Ron are welcome to attend.
