Scott Wayman, 50, passed away on July 6th, 2021, in Lincoln, NE. Scott is survived by his parents, Doug and Judy (Reddish) Wayman; Brother, Dan Wayman & Nicole Green; sons: Tyler Wayman & Alex Van Norman, Avery Wayman and Nevan Hile, and Jake Wayman; Domestic Partner, Teri Wayman, and nephew, Cole Wayman.
Scott was born on February 17th, 1971, in Lincoln, NE. Scott (or “Scooter,” as his parents called him) loved sports. When growing up his mother taught him how to play baseball, come to find out that he was ambidextrous! Scott was an avid Husker and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Scott joined the United States Marine Corps in 1990 and served 8 honorable years with an ending rank of Sergeant. Scott went on to serve his community by working at the Nebraska State Penitentiary for 12 years, where he was a corporal. In most recent years, he worked at Uribe Refuse where he had countless stories of garbage totes and routes. He loved his job and coworkers, and continuously told stories. Scott was a very outgoing and lovable person – he could make a friend anytime, anywhere. Scott had a lot of pride in his family, and loved spending time with his three boys, who he cherished and loved more than anything. Scott will be remembered and missed by many.
Visitation for memory sharing and storytelling, will be held on Monday, July 12th, 2021, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, 2:00 pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. A Reception will follow in the downstairs Reception Room back at the Funeral Home.
