Shirley Nadyne Bauer

Shirley lived in Agenda, Kansas until 1944, when she moved to Lincoln for her education. She married Richard F. Bauer, who she met while working at Lincoln Telephone Company. They were married for fifty-two years before his passing. She belonged to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, charter member of Nebraska P.E.O., Eastern Star #271, Daughters of the Nile #66 Naphis Temple, Shrine Widows, Legion Auxiliary, and was a 44-year Bryan Hospital volunteer.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Robert Ness, of Kearney, Nebraska; granddaughter, Annie (Brandon) Johnson, of Austin, Texas; great-grandson, Bergen Johnson; nieces and nephews; along with many cherished friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lois Pentico; husband, Richard "Dick" Bauer; infant son, Stephen; and brother, Roger Pentico.

A funeral service will be held for Shirley on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A visitation will occur on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials are designated to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
