Steven Jay Timmons of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away August 25, 2025. Steve was born December 31, 1946 in Sibley, Iowa to William and Mildred Timmons. The youngest of three children, Steve grew up in Ocheyedan, Iowa.
In 1965, he graduated from Ocheyedan High School. Morningside University granted him a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in 1969.
Steve and Jeri Madland were united in marriage on June 4,1967.
Steve began his forty year career as a cattle buyer at Wilson Packing Company in Cherokee, Iowa. He also worked for Spencer Foods, Land O'Lakes, and Iowa Beef Processors. For the last twenty-three years, Steve worked for Cargill, finishing his career as a supervisor and retiring in 2010.
Steve was involved with TeamMates, a youth mentoring program, and was a volunteer for Nebraska Motorist Assist. Fishing was a passion and he took many trips with family and friends.
Steve is survived by Jeri, his wife of 58 years, their children: Tracy Timmons-Focht (Tom) of Lincoln, Troy (Paula) of Sioux Falls, SD and Ty (Jill) of Fairbury, NE; his beloved grandchildren: Taylor and Jamison Focht, Paige (Mitch) Gusso, Avery and William Timmons, Ethan Smith, Evelyn and Wesley Timmons, his brother Bruce (Roberta) and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janice.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 11th, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the same location.
Special thanks are given to the Pemberly Place caregivers and Hillcrest Hospice for the loving care they provided.
