

Wesley L. Lowell, age 90, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on March 31, 2026. Born February 23, 1936 to Charles and Edith (Clemens) Lowell, Wes was raised on the family farm near Ashland, Nebraska. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1956 and served in the United States Navy until 1958.
On August 16, 1958, he married Janice (Frohlich) Lowell, with whom he shared nearly four decades of marriage prior to her passing in 1997. The couple made their home in the Eagle, Nebraska area, where Wes worked at the local gas station and served as a school bus driver. He later joined Stephens School Supply, where he oversaw warehouse operations, and subsequently concluded his career at the Nebraska Department of Education as manager of supplies and the mailroom. After retiring in 1998, he continued to contribute to the community through employment and volunteer service at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Wes was a devoted supporter of Husker athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals. He participated in bowling leagues for several years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising livestock, and gardening. On November 27, 1999, he married Vi Siefkes; together, they were blessed with more than 25 years of marriage and cherished opportunities to travel with and visit family.
He is survived by his wife Viola Siefkes; daughter Christy (Ken) Snyder of Waverly, NE, son Curtis Lowell of Waverly, NE; step-children Tami (Buck) Parker of Grand Prairie, TX, Teresa (Mike) Rosen of Minneapolis, MN, Tina McCutcheon of Boulder, CO, and Tim (Jennifer) Siefkes of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Hannah (Cole) Petersen of Gretna, NE, Miranda (Chris) Ferreira of Virginia Beach, VA, Austin (Emily) Lowell of Omaha, NE, and Sean Lowell of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren Easton Petersen, Emery Ferreira, and Benson Lowell; ten step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brother Henry Lowell of Lincoln, Nebraska; and brother-in-law Richard (Carol) Frohlich of Omaha, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Janice Lowell, sister Betty Thomson, brother-in-law Robert Thomson, and sister-in-law Wilma Lowell.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th St., Lincoln, NE 68506. Private graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent in care of the family for future designation.
