

Wilma Armstrong, 89, of Lincoln passed away October 7, 2014. Wilma Eugene Armstrong was born June 23, 1925 in Lincoln to Pearl and Walter Dill. On August 21, 1943, she married Richard Armstrong; they celebrated their 71st anniversary this year. Wilma was known as “Jean” by her many friends. She was an excellent seamstress, and during her career she was the workroom manager at Morrow Interiors. She was most pleased to have helped make many draperies for the State Capital building. Jean was a valuable member of the VFW and Eagles. For many years she was an elections judge in Belmont. Jean loved to dance. She could square dance as well as many slow and fast dances. She was on a senior bowling league with Richard and played shuffleboard weekly. Her career and activities in the community endeared her to many friends and acquaintances. She will be missed by all. Jean is survived by her beloved husband Richard; her son, Allen (Suzanne) Armstrong; grandchildren, Alanna Anthony and Jon Armstrong and their spouses Dan Keiser and Jacqueline Armstrong; her beloved great-grandchildren, Kasaundra, Zachary, Paige, and Hannah Armstrong and Dalainey Keiser; sister in law, Pearl Prall; nieces, Jan (Gil) Rank and Pam Kirk; as well as nephews, David Hodtwalker, and David, Bill, Joel and Richard Prall and David Hodtwalker. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bonnie (Dill) Hodtwalker. Funeral Services will be Friday October 10, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Jean will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association.
