Charles Ray White, son of the late Wallace White and Sadie Ernestine White, was born on July 2, 1961 in Edenton, North Carolina. Four sisters: Pearl Parson (husband Lloyd Parson) of North Carolina, Gloria Ford (husband Calton Ford; deceased) of Virginia and Elaine White (deceased) of North Carolina.
Charles moved to New Jersey in 1978. He attended and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1979. During that year he met his wife, Jane Karen White, with whom they were blessed with six children: Charles White, Ray White, Sikandrah White, Tiamoyia White, Elaina White and (one premature deceased baby). The two were married in 1983.
His first job was working with his favorite uncle Lloyd Vaugh's cleaning service. It wasn't long before he decided to go back to school. He attended Cittone Institute of Edison, New Jersey. After graduating, he began his technical career as a Computer Operations System Engineer at Union Carbide Technical in 1985.
In 1989, he worked as a Network Operations Support at Cisco Network Engineering. Shortly after, Charles continued and finished his career with various roles at JP Morgan in New York City, first as a DEC VAX/VMS Operations Support and Engineer followed by CBB Datacenter Technical Manager and Technical Delivery Manager and CBB Infrastructure Engineer. He truly loved his career.
Charles loved his family. He made education the top priority for his children to attend and graduate from college to obtain their degrees. Charles had a love for dancing and music at an early age. He taught his sons at a very young age how to DJ on the turntables and taught his daughters about entrepreneurship in his leisure time. He enjoyed watching sports (he loved the Giants).
Charles loved to dance. It brought him so much life and joy. He was well known at Poor Bill's, where he danced with New Jersey's finest. His dance partner was Terry Jeter. He was loved by all of New Jersey's finest DJ's; his son DJ Solo, DJ Larry Love, DJ Chipper, DJ Tony, DJ Brick, DJ Kyle Small Smith, and DJ Tamir. He also worked with John Blassingame, Sarah Army, New Day Association Organization of Linden, Newark NJ Finest, Gerald Holloway at Essex County College fashion shows and well known fashion designers like Donna Byrd and Vernest Moore.
Charles is survived by his wife Jane White, daughters: Sikandrah, Tiamoyia and Elaina White, his sons Charles and Ray White, granddaughters Shylah Bell and Melina Alphonse, a grandson (on the way), godson Ronald Fields Jr. of Scotch Plains, sisters in law Charlene Gullette (deceased), Tonyia Gullette, Joie Mickens (husband Jessie Mickens), Barbara Gullette, Tatrice Davis (husband Broderick Davis), brother in law Richard Gullette (wife Keisha Gullette) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. "To My Dad"
To my beloved father, I miss you more than anything. I'll never be able to fill the emptiness that I feel knowing that you aren't here anymore. Losing my superhero is a painful thing to experience. Even though this loss is heavy, I have the proud feeling of knowing that you got to see your family achieve their goals. All of my accomplishments are the result of the lessons and hard work you have instilled in me. You worked tirelessly and sacrificed so much so that we could have a life of opportunity and success. Your endless encouragement and mentorship has given me an unbreakable drive to succeed and make you proud. I'll continue to add to your legacy and keep your name alive in everything I do. I'm heartbroken to say the least but I know you are always with me. I love you, Dad.
