

Elba Yolanda Fonseca, 90, of Woodbridge Township, NJ, passed away on August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 14, 1935, in Cuba, Elba immigrated to the United States in 1969 with her devoted husband, Calixto, and their young daughter, Niurka, in search of a brighter future. Elba Yolanda and Calixto shared a beautiful 65-year marriage, built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
She is survived by her husband, Calixto Fonseca; her cherished daughter, Niurka (Candido) Perez; her adoring grandchildren, Christian (Andrea) Perez and Jessica (Danny) Trindade; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Julian and Olivia Trindade. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Miriam Sanchez, Mirna Martin, and Oreste Tamayo.
Known for her elegance and vibrant spirit, Elba Yolanda took great pride in maintaining her beauty—never missing her weekly hair appointment or biweekly manicure. She loved spending time with her family, sitting on the porch on their rocking chairs with her husband, sharing laughter, and celebrating life’s joys. Her great-grandchildren brought her boundless happiness—whether watching soccer with Julian, making her famous white rice for Olivia, or chasing them around with youthful energy.
Elba Yolanda’s warmth, optimism, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Conocida por su elegancia y espíritu vibrante, Elba Yolanda se enorgullecía de mantener siempre su belleza—nunca faltaba a su cita semanal para el cabello ni a su manicura quincenal. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia, sentada en el porche en sus mecedoras junto a su esposo, compartiendo risas y celebrando las alegrías de la vida. Sus bisnietos le daban una felicidad inmensa—ya fuera viendo partidos de fútbol con Julian, preparando su famoso arroz blanco para Olivia, o corriendo detrás de ellos con una energía renovada.

A visitation for Elba will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A religious ceremony will occur Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 155 Washington Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. A committal will occur Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, 1 Cemetery Rd, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095.
