Fulgencio C Salermo was born on November 16, 1951 in Holguin, Cuba, to Eloina and Eneido Salermo. He migrated from Cuba with his family in the early 1980s to Elizabeth, NJ. Fulgencio never forgot his roots, proud to be Cuban and even prouder to be Holguinero. He never lost his love for the ocean, spending countless summers in Miami, loving the beach, fishing, and an occasional cold beer with fried fish. Equally, he was deeply proud of his family and of being a "Salermo”. Most recently he enjoyed his time with his granddaughter, whom she affectionately called “Abuelo Piti.”
His wife Gloria , his children Yoannys, Yordak, Saray, and his granddaughter Alana survive him. He also leaves to mourn his passing his two sisters, Mary and Maida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and others who have lovingly called him "Pipo.”
