Born in Brooklyn, John later moved to Ozone Park, where he graduated from John Adams High School. During his time there, he was the top vocalist in the school and a standout in the music program, earning recognition for his remarkable voice. His love of performing continued beyond high school—John and his twin brother, Tony, played together in a cover band for several years, entertaining audiences at local venues throughout the area.
John built a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service in Brooklyn, ultimately retiring after many years of loyal and hard-working service.
He was known for his giving, kind-hearted, and charitable nature. A true animal lover, he had a gentle spirit and a soft spot for pets and wildlife alike. He also had a lifelong love of reading, especially mystery and crime thrillers, which he enjoyed throughout his adult life.
A lifelong music lover, John especially adored the timeless voice of Johnny Mathis, whom he saw in concert several times—most recently last Christmas. He loved going out to restaurants, trying new foods, and discovering new favorites, always treating his family and making every meal together special.
Although he didn’t travel often, one especially meaningful trip for John was a recent visit to Cape May, a place he spoke of fondly and remembered with joy.
John’s warmth, humor, generosity, and deep love for his family will be remembered forever by those fortunate enough to have known him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine; his brother, Joseph; and his sister-in-law, Carol Ann. He is survived by his twin brother, Tony; his nephew and godson, Anthony, and his wife, Tara; and his niece, Melissa, and her husband, Peter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, from 9–11 a.m. at Krowicki Funeral Home in Linden, NJ. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Queens.
May his memory be a blessing and a comfort to all who knew him.
