

Joseph N. Rodriguez, 82, of Linden, New Jersey passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones on December 11, 2025. He worked at Schering Plough in Kenilworth, New Jersey, as a Technical Writer for 42 years, before retiring in 2004. Joseph was an avid fisherman and outdoorsmen, enjoying countless hours in the Pocono Mountains and at various waterfronts with family and friends. The people he frequently interacted with always received cookies, pretzels and other goodies to ensure a smile to brighten their day.
Joseph was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War in Scotland and aboard submarines. He was a member of Masonic Lafayette Lodge 27, Rahway, New Jersey; American Legion Post 229, Roselle, New Jersey; American Legion Post 274, Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, New Jersey.
Joseph was predeceased by his father (Francisco Rodriguez), mother (Teresa Rodriguez), mother-in-law (Maria Rosa de la Torre), brother (Frank Rodriguez), sister-in-law (Joan Rodriguez), brother-in-law (Ramon Sierra), and brother-in-law (Narciso Tauler).
Joseph was the beloved husband of Maggie (Tauler) Rodriguez for 49 years; devoted father of Michelle Rodriguez Sobey and husband, James Sobey of Jamesville, New York; cherished grandfather of Vanessa, Vinncent, and Dylan, who were his pride and joy, and his special canine buddy, Charlie; dear brother-in-law of Rosa Maria Sierra of Austin, Texas; loving uncle of Robin Rodriguez and Charles McAnulla of Havertown, Pennsylvania; loving uncle of Frank D. Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Eileen, and children, Michael, Megan and Caitlin of Morristown, New Jersey; loving uncle of Alexander T. Sierra and wife Rebecca, and children Noah and Gabriel Sierra of Austin, Texas, and many other family members and friends.
A special note of appreciation to the staff of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway and Care Connection, Rahway, New Jersey for their dedication to Joseph’s care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joseph’s memory to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home,
2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden, on Sunday,
December 21, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral service will be held during the visiting hours.
