Kioko Higa

It is with great sadness that the family of Kioko Higa announce her sudden passing on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the age of 85. Kioko was a beloved Obachan, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend who will be missed dearly. She was predeceased by her parents and husband Takenori. Kioko will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by; Moshu: her children Lucho, Akemi, Sachi (Tetsuo), Ruriko (Masa); grandchildren, Mark Anthony (Monette), Mike, Sayuri Kong (Dustin), Kevin, Jessica; great grandchildren, Kaila, Jaiden, Hailey, Jamie; siblings, Seimatsu, Juku (Lupe), Akeo (Maria), Michan (Victor). Born in Lima, Peru, on November 12, 1936, she was always surrounded by family with 12 siblings. For many years she enjoyed her time owning her own hair salon. When she moved to the United States in 1995 to be with her husband and children, her family grew even bigger. She became obachan to everyone, with every family party held at her home. She was always cooking, laughing, and imparting her wisdom. Her unwavering faith in Gohonzon, kept her strong. She was always chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo to pray for good health, happiness, and love for all of her family, friends and for humanity. We would like to acknowledge and thank all of our friends and loved ones who have embraced us with sympathy and support during this difficult time. A visitation for Kioko will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Family, friends and guests are invited to the funeral home the following morning, Wednesday December 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30AM to pay their final respects and funeral prayers. A funeral will take place in Rosedale Cemetery, E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036 immediately after.
