Mary D (McAuliffe) Butter

Mary Dorlan Butter (McAuliffe), 88, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home on March 16, 2023. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Mary was the youngest child of five children, born to John and Fayetta McAuliffe. She worked at National State Bank, Union, NJ as a Human Resources Representative for more than 20 years, when she retired to spend time with her family. She was a longtime member of the Rosary Club at Immaculate Conception Church, Elizabeth, NJ and the Ladies Auxiliary Club of the Knights of Columbus Council #253. She enjoyed getting together with her childhood girlfriends every month, spending weekends at church retreats in Ventnor, NJ and hosting holidays in her home. Mary always looked forward to family events and visiting with her sister, Peggy, every chance she got. Mary is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Richard S. Butter and her son Mark E. Butter; sons Richard S. Butter, Jr., and his wife Melfi, Brian J. Butter and his wife Catherine, Matthew W. Butter and his wife, Jeanie, Christopher Turano; grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Christopher Kaminski, Samantha and her fiance Christopher Mohr, Victoria, Kayla, Kennedy, Jake, Matthew Jr. and Nicholas; great-grandsons, Logan and Grayson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, https://www.stjude.org A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, 9:00 AM. Funeral mass will take place in St. Genevieve Church, Elizabeth at 10:00 am.
