Pedro Aguirre affectionately known as"”Papa" entered eternal peace on Jan 20, 2025. Pedro, one of 4 siblings Aurora, Olga and Jose, was born to Pedro and Aurora Aguirre on March 12,1933 in Oriente, Cuba. He frequently shared fond memories of his life in Cuba including how he met and married the love of his life Nodia Tundidor. In June of 1962 the family migrated to the United States fleeing a communist regime with their one year old son Jorge. With nothing but the clothes on their backs, Pedro began working immediately and along with his mother Aurora and sister Olga they were able to buy a four family home together in Elizabeth NJ. In 1964 Pedro and Nodia had another son Peter Aguirre and he completed their family.
Pedro was the kindest of men, always willing to help others. The amount of kitchens and bathrooms he renovated for family and friends were endless. He was a pillar of strength especially for his 2 sisters Aurora and Olga and his niece Olga. He was their "go-to" when life got rough.
Friends and family looked forward to Pedro's parties especially every Christmas eve when he spent hours outside roasting a pig as part of our Cuban tradition. He was a great host and it brought him so much joy. His dedication to family, his willingness to help others and his sense of humour will always be remembered.
