Raymond was a kind soul whom always had a listening ear. Even though I haven’t seen him in a few years I always remember the great person he was. A family man first always then all else folllowed.  Raymond you will always be remembered. Until we meet again brother

I worked with ray for almost 10 years He   Taught me everything I thought I knew about this business. He was a true Craftsman , He's the only  Guy I know in this business who would  Have done it for free that's how much he loved it. It was like a second marriage I believe we spent about 12 to 14 hours A-day together And of course at the end of that day was always a  Coors light lol.That infections smile and eagerness to help others ,knowing him for 20 plus yrs was a pleasure and he will be missed. Our deepest prayers are with his family. 

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family for your lose...it was a gut punch to me when I hear the news...I loved Raymond he was my friend and he was always there for me....he will be deeply missed...

I also remember when you and your wife purchased your first home on Ingalls and I helped prewire it. I helped you bring in things such as plywood, sheetrock lots of 2 by 4's and structure beams. BTW this house was a complete renovation. I don't know how many of you remember but Ray had a small issue with that project. He painted the siding and there was something wrong with the paint. Who remembers that? Because I do! lol.... and that was priceless but I felt so bad for him. Yeah a few days later it was all handled by the home depot rep. See Ray had it all covered  and always with that cold BEER and that smile. Now comes my house and I needed something small from him. It was to install some siding on my OCTAGON window now on my addition of the old garage door. What a great job he did and our last project along with his friend but I can't remember his name. BTW I did more of the sitting back lol...I would say 2008. As this night closes, tomorrow 12/5/2020 will be a hard day as we say our goodbyes my friend. Ray, I shed tears brother and shocked by your passing I want you to know that I WILL MISS YOUR SMILE! I WILL MISS YOU! and I THANK YOU! for being my friend. I will pray for your wife Millie and kids. Yes, I know they are not little. RIP my brother!

Ray, I thank God for knowing you since 1988. We shared lots of laughs and you taught me the Bob Villa way. You were a great contractor and I will soon place your prayer card in my ultimate garage with your endless smile. So what I remember most about my friend Ramon Lago. I would have to say the days and nights at the G&J Mobil and you have to admit that was the place to be around In the late 80's. See Ray also worked there, we all worked or hung out there and that was where we met. I was 17 and had just started driving and riding motorcycles. I remember my thin frame when you offered me to ride your Honda CB1000 till I dropped it. Who would've thought that you were going to save the day or I should say your bike on that oil slick. You ran so fast as I held it with all my strength to not even come close to a scratch on your bikes peg. You helped me pick that thing up like nothing and the funny thing is you were not mad and bc you carried your smile. Time went by but we all hung out there shared stories and a bunch of burn outs. That gas station had the coolest cars in town and I would say Ray had the baddest Jeep in Elizabeth. I wanted to drive that thing so badly but I never asked and he never offered. That Jeep had a 350 engine that was the you know what back then. It was super fast and badass but I was not a fan of the flames painted on the hood. Wait I now remember Ray saying leave 15k on my front seat and it's yours.  Around that time I met his parents and had dinner at their place on S.Broad and we had a great time. I remember hanging out with him and dropping some things at his dads  building by BK and hanging out at the cabinet shop on South Street. A few months later I finally got to see that dirt bike he was  selling and I had finally bought one of Ray's treasures. It was more fun on two wheels. You see back when we had the trails by the Elizabeth river that ran by the Turnpike.
