

Ricardo Cortes Lugo, 85, of Utuado, PR, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 17, 1939, in Utuado, PR, Ricardo lived a life full of compassion, strength, and perseverance.
Ricardo was a devoted husband to Antonia Cuevas, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and a long-lasting partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in resilience and unity. He was a loving father to Ricardo Cortez Jr., Marisol Rosario, Ariel Cortez, and Edwin Cortez. His love extended to his 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, with whom he created countless moments filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories.
Ricardo was a die-hard Mets fan, known for his hard work, dedication, and his ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. Whether through his infectious laughter or his skill as the undisputed king of dominoes, he had a unique way of making every moment special. As a proud Puerto Rican, Ricardo’s love for his home island was unwavering. He cherished the culture, traditions, and spirit of Puerto Rico, and carried its warmth with him wherever he went. His generosity, kindness, and vibrant energy touched the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation for Ricardo will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, 5:00-9:00 pm at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E St. Georges Ave, Linden.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral on Friday, February 28, 2025. Funeral services will held at 10:00 am in the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
