

Santiago, fondly known as Chuck, was born to Maria Raurell and Antonio Fernandez, on August 9,1960, in Havana, Cuba. In his youth, he joined the Army and served four years. He later joined the union, Sprinkler Fitters Local 696, on 2/1/1985 where he retired from in 2004.
He was a man of immense strength and wisdom, cherishing every moment with his loved ones. His passion for fishing, reading, football, Star Wars and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. He was a diehard Miami Dolphins fan and passed before ever getting to see them in a super-bowl however, he was able to watch them win one final game surrounded by family the day before he passed.
He is survived by his sister, Ana Andreini, daughter Samantha Fernandez, son, Daniel Fernandez, daughter in law Bianca Fernandez, granddaughters, Jaylene Colon and Izabella Fernandez, grandsons, Elijah Finis, Nathan Finis, Gabriel Desarno and Dominick Bueller, and great grandson Adonis Peña-Colon, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Preceding him in peace were his mother, Maria Perez, father, Antonio Fernandez, brother, Tony Fernandez, and daughter Stephanie Fernandez.
A visitation for Santiago will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Prayer service will take place at 6:00 PM.
