Donna J. Leeman

FREEPORT: Donna J. Leeman, 58, of Topsham passed away Thursday afternoon at Freeport Nursing Home with her family at her side. She was born in Brunswick on April 19, 1957 a daughter of George and Fernande (Fournier) Elwell. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of 1975. On October 28, 1978 she married Kevin Leeman and then on July 15, 1981, which she refers to as “The greatest day of her life” she gave birth to their son Daniel Lawrence Leeman. Over the years, Donna had worked at Tess Market, Fat Boys Drive-In, Cooks Corner Cinema and McDonald’s in Topsham. She was most recently employed at Hannaford in Topsham where she had been for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing Canasta and Bingo with her friends and playing games with Cheryl. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Kevin Leeman of Topsham and her son Daniel and his wife Michelle of Lisbon Falls along with their two wonderful boys, Riley and Seth, whom she loved more than she ever thought was possible. She also leaves behind her sisters, Linda Dodson and her husband Ron and Debra Washburn and her husband Scott all of Brunswick and Judy White of Lewiston as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were dear to her. There were a few special people to Donna that she wanted to recognize by nickname only saying “You’ll know who you are” Dumb Italian, AV, Angel, D.R., Coffee Buddies, Old Bag, M.W. and two very special nieces, who she referred to as My little girls…who?, and baby bro you dub!! She was predeceased by her brothers, Dennis, George, Ronald, Kenneth, Joseph and Michael and her sisters, Carol Newton and Lisa Elwell. A Spaghetti Supper that had already been planned for Donna and Kevin in regards to their health conditions will still take place on June 7 at the Topsham Fairgrounds from 4-6pm. Please attend this special fund raising event to help out the family if you can.
