George I. Lund, and brother, Gordon W. Lund, moved to Lisbon in 1941. Marie attended school
in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1954. After graduation she did clerical work
at Pineland Center and Farnsworth Mill.
She married Eugene "Sonny" L. Russell on August 29, 1959. They had three children over their
33 years of marriage: Barbara A. Russell of Auburn, Madelyn J. Cornish of Harpswell, and
Bradley E. Russell of Lisbon.
Marie stayed home with her children for many years. She had many hobbies including,
gardening, hunting, fishing, sewing, traveling, and entering car shows.
She did most of her traveling with her companion, Douglas Clark (predeceased January 8,
2019).
Marie eventually became a Notary and worked at the Lisbon Town Office for several years.
Marie was very involved in her community. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters
of Rebekah, Lisbon United Methodist Church, Women's Auxiliary Post 158, Street Rod Club,
Lisbon Historical Society, and the Lisbon Cemetery Committee.
In addition, she volunteered at the VA Hospital in Augusta and Lewiston for over 30 years.
After her husband passed, (January 29, 1993), she had the 1923 T-bucket, he started,
completed. She enjoyed entering her lavender "Rat Rod" in many car shows and enjoyed
driving it for many years in the Moxie Day Parade.
Marie was predeceased by her son-in-law Dean P. Cornish.
Marie is survived by Barbara A. Russell, Madelyn J. Cornish and Bradley E. Russell and wife,
Inga D. Russell.
She left behind 5 grandchildren: Amy M. Cornish, Chad D. Cornish, Jacob E. Russell, Samuel
M. Cornish, and Hannah M. Cornish.
