Gordon D. Curtis, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, March 11, 2022 at his home in Lisbon Falls.
He was born November 30, 1936 in Livermore Falls the son of Margery (Lamoreau) and Erland Curtis. Being raised and working on the family farm, his love of farm animals developed, especially draft horses.
Gordon graduated from Richmond High School and was a US Air Force veteran. He married Louise Paradis February 15th, 1957. They raised five children together and enjoyed their life as a couple for 56 years until her passing on September 30, 2013.
He worked at RCA, Raytheon, and at the time of his retirement was the building superintendent for Liberty Mutual. As a master electrician he worked evenings and weekends doing electrical work to provide the best for his family. He was especially happy when he had time to putter outdoors on his many projects.
During times of leisure, he enjoyed being at camp, family gatherings with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He also enjoyed rabbit traps with his grands. He was a longstanding member of the Pejepscot Sno-Chiefs holding various positions. He also served with the Farmers Draft Horse, Mule & Pony Club and was supportive of Camp CaPella. His greatest achievement along with his children, was the “World's Greatest Sleigh Ride” annual event which spanned 29 years.
Gordon was active in town politics being a member of many committees throughout his lifetime. Just two weeks ago he was sworn into the Conservation Committee. Gordon was also part of the "breakfast club, " meeting monthly with several former classmates from Richmond High.
He is survived by four children: Layne, Dee, Sandi, and Steve, and his brother Jerry. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Louise, son Kevin, and two brothers Kendon and Carroll Curtis. He was also predeceased by his beloved cat, Buster Billy.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Lisbon Falls.
A memorial service honoring Gordon's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 19th at MTM Center, 18 School Street in Lisbon Falls.
