Jane was born in Lewiston Maine to her parents Amel and Ethel Reid Kiszonak in 1954, twin to James Marshal Kiszonak, deceased, younger sister to Joan Kiszonak deceased, & Tommy Kiszonak-Houston, deceased. Jane loved her twin James(Jim) dearly as the youngest children in the family; they spent many happy years up on Ridge Road at the farm. She always said it was too darn dark up there on the hill. One of the stories Jane liked to tell was about when she and Pauline found some roller skates in Pauline's barn and then decided to roller skate down the main road aka Route 9.
Jane attended school in Lisbon Falls, Maine. She was in the school Band, playing the flute.
Even while in school she would work the weekends at the Ricker family’s house cleaning to make extra money to help out her family. When she was a senior in high school she got a job at Brooks discount drug store in midtown Lisbon Falls, where she rose to Assistant Manager.
While in School she met her future husband Donny, who thought she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. After some courting, including trips to the drive-in movies, and a push into a snowbank, Jane and Donny were married on June 30th 1973.
She later got a job at the Farnsworth Mill, up in Lisbon Center. While working at the mill Jane and Donny welcomed their first son Matt in 1975. And later In 1977 welcomed their second son David to the world. Jane continued to work at the mill until 1982 when the back wall fell down during her shift and she decided she had had enough. So that day she went down to Freeport, walked into the Hr Department and got a job at LLBean. Jane worked there for 28 years. She started out as a picker at Beans, then as a Cycle Counter and finally the Automatic Transfer Service Manager. Everything she did, she did proudly and gave it everything she could, oh, the stories she could tell about the people she knew.
Jane loved her two boys dearly. Jane and Donny did all kinds of activities with the boys from Scouts to, Tee ball (oh the Ice creams they bought) to summers fishing on the boat, or going to LLBean camps up in Rangeley spending time with friends.
Jane was a devout woman and went to the Lisbon United Methodist Church every Sunday. There she joined the choir, and a little later she convinced Donny to join her. And as time went on she not only got her boys to join her, but the entire family for the Christmas concerts (the Wile family singers). Jane also joined the women’s group, helping out whenever there was an event by making her mini italian sandwiches, and lets’ not forget Jane’s baked beans every month like clock work she would make the baked beans for all those bean suppers.
When the New Millennium came, so did some wonderful events in Jane’s Life. First, her youngest son David got married to Susan Cotton on August 12th 2000.
Next their oldest son Matthew married Karen Cummings on September 21st 2002.
Later she welcomed 5 beautiful grandchildren into the family: Jessica, Victoria, Marcus, Sean, and Tristen as they came into this world. Jane loved her grandchildren with all her heart. The kids knew that at Grammy’s house there was always something to eat and hugs galore. Jane spoiled her grandchildren as a Grandmother should.
Jane was a perfect homemaker, she loved her home and kept it clean and tidy. Everything had its place, She was also an excellent cook. She had come from a Slovak family and there was always food around the house. If you showed up to Jane and Donnies house and left hungry, that was your own darn fault.
Jane and Donny have had many wonderful friends: The Banatis, the Palmers, the Vietas, the Cavendars, the Nolans and many more. Jane was a wonderful hostess as well, all of the celebrations, Saturday breakfasts, and BBQ’s on the back deck Such, the nickname, The Douglas Street Dinner was made.
Jane and Donny have a love for the ages. They almost reached 53 years of marriage this year. Donny always told her he loved her, She was the other half of his heart, and his best friend. He has no words to say how much she will be missed. And her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Following Jane's wishes a celebration of life will be held in the future, Details to come.
Jane will be laid to rest at a later date, in the Slovak Catholic Cemetery on route 125 in Lisbon Falls, Maine in the family plot alongside her twin brother and the rest of her family.
