

PORTLAND: Russell B. Plummer, Jr., 91, of Lisbon Falls passed away on Thursday January 21, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a brief illness. He was born in Lisbon Falls on February 26, 1924 a son of the late Russell and Drusilla (Goodwin) Plummer, Sr. He grew up in the area and attended Brunswick and Rockwood schools. He was a graduate of Lisbon High School, class of 1942. After high school, Russell joined the United States Navy and served his country until his discharge in 1963. After his time with the Navy, he worked as a truck driver for Blue Rock as well as at the Worumbo Mill. He also worked for several years at Maine Electronics. Russell was a member of the American Legion Post 158 in Lisbon as well a Life Member of the Slovak Catholic Association. He also attended West Bowdoin Baptist Church. He is survived by his long-time companion, Edith V. Roberge of Lisbon Falls, his siblings; Constance Holvey of Ohio, Claudia Plummer of Texas and David Plummer and his wife Janice of Lisbon as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings; Corinne Gaynor, Keith Plummer and Thomas Plummer.

A celebration of Russell’s life will take place on Monday January 25, 2016 at 1pm also at the funeral home. Interment along with Navy honors will take place in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls.
