

SABATTUS: Rev. Stanley Sabine Jr. passed away peacefully on November 10th, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 17, 1925, in Bridgton, Maine, the oldest of five boys, to the late Stanley and Helen Catherine (Burgess) Sabine. Stanley was a devoted husband, father and Pastor whose faith in Jesus Christ defined him from the time he accepted him as his personal savior at twelve years of age to the day that he passed. He loved the Church of the Nazarene and served as a bi-vocational Pastor in Jackman, Strong and Lisbon Falls, Maine, retiring from Lisbon Falls in 1986 after personally completing the construction of the church and parsonage there. Additionally, as part of their ministry, Rev. Sabine and his wife Helen were foster parents for 38 years. He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Helen M. Sabine; four brothers, Charles Rodney Sabine of Portland, Oregon, Lawrence Sabine of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Richard Sabine of Wichita Falls, Texas and Lewis Sabine of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Jonathon C. Sabine of Gastonia, North Carolina, Brian Sabine (Darlene Hunnewell) of Durham, Danial Sabine (Sarah) of Sabattus; a daughter in law, Davida Sabine of Ohio; his daughter, Catherine Levesque (Toby) of Sabattus; a brother-in-law who was like a son to him, James Quinlan (Cindy) of Sabattus; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren as well as 4 special nieces and many other extended family members. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Chute Sabine, and a son, Timothy Chute Sabine. A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Windham on Saturday at 10 am followed by committal prayers and interment at Murch Cemetery in Casco.
