

Charles E. Davis, “Chuck,” age 85, passed away peacefully. He was born in Waterville, Maine, but grew up and lived for many years in Liberty, Maine. He graduated from Walker High School in Liberty, Maine, where he met his future wife Maureen, and went on to graduate from Husson College in Bangor, Maine. After graduating from college, Chuck worked for Montgomery Ward, working his way up through many promotions and moving throughout the country from Maine, Virginia, to Maryland, and finally settling in Chicago. Once settling in Chicago, he and Maureen joined the Lockport Family Squares where they were avid square dancers for 25 years, and made many long lasting friendships. Along with square dancing, Chuck enjoyed working on the lawn and planting flowers, watching the news, and was long time Chicago Bears fan.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maureen (nee Mitchell) and his daughter, Pam (Tim) Smith, his granddaughters Emma and Megan, his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two sister-in-laws, Lorna Hills and Sherry Strauss. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Barlow, his aunt, Elsie Brown, and his half-sister, May Peavey.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation and celebration of Chuck’s life that will be held on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 from 12 - 3:30 pm, with a prayer service at 3:30pm at Blake Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle, Illinois 60532.
