David F. Corrigan

Devoted husband of Jane Corrigan; loving father of David (Lori), Jane (Craig), Scot, and Michael (Laura); dedicated grandfather of Drew, Tyler, Matt, Riley, Katie, Joshua, and Fiona; and uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many.

David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Corrigan, along with his brother, James (Lenore) Corrigan.

David was kind, funny, and devoted to his family. David married Jane (née Newcomb) in Pennsylvania on July 13, 1963 and they spent the next 61 years raising a family, sharing a life, and eventually travelling across the world. One constant throughout was a shared love of music and dancing.

He was a fixture at his children’s and grandchildren’s activities; never missing a game, concert, or competition. He was often coaching and always celebrating with post-event ice cream.

Threaded throughout his life was a strong desire to laugh with us. He did this with long stories, homemade props, silly voices, old jokes, magic tricks, and clipped out Far Side comics. But it was his unexpected comments delivered in a dry deadpan that was his trademark.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove, IL where David met and adopted two of his four-legged best friends: Spenser and Rosie.

Memorial Visitation for David will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL 60532. Interment will be private.
