Dorothy Johansen

Dorothy Ann Johansen (nee Pritchard) aged 85, has passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on October 4, 2017. She was born February 29, 1932, in Hinsdale, IL to Franz and Esther Prichard. The eldest of 3 girls, she met Cort Johansen and married in 1950.

They had 6 children together: Connie (Paul) Nielsen, Cort Jr. (Michele), Curt (Mary), Craig (Kathryn), Carol (George) Cremeens and Cory (Laura).

Cort and Dorothy ran the family farm, which is Johansen Farms. Selling fruits and vegetables and expanding to greenhouses and the Children’s Zoo. She had a great faith in the Lord and instilled that unto her children. She lived a long life filled with love of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Franz and Esther; her husband Cort and her sister Barbara. She is survived by her sister Shirley, her children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was adored by everyone she met.

The Visitation will be at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., (On Rt. 53, ½ mile south of Ogden Ave./Rt. 34) on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10am. Interment will follow at Lisle Cemetery.
