He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Alessandra and his parents and brothers. He is survived by his loving daughter and son, Stephanie Boesso and Larry (Eileen) Boesso; his adored grandchildren, Joseph (Brittany), Nicholas (Kiersten) Boesso and Isabella (Jack) Frakes; and his cherished great-grandchildren Michael and Alessandra Boesso; his dear sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was the first of seven children born to Virginio and Maria Boesso. He experienced growing up on the farm during World War 2 in Northern Italy. He later served in the Italian paramilitary police or Carabineri which fostered his interest to immigrate to the United States. He eventually immigrated in 1956 to the Chicago South side Pullman neighborhood where his uncle lived. He began his career in the construction industry that same year working as a laborer and eventually a lead carpenter for the Burnside Construction Company. During his first years in the US, he corresponded with and eventually went back to Italy and married Alessandra “Sandra” Carraro in 1959, and they returned to the States. They had 2 children Stephanie and Larry. Joe always wanted to bring his family back to Italy. Unfortunately, in 1975, he realized that the possibility would not happen. He then decided, with his wife Sandra, to start his own construction company, J.B. Concrete Contractors. He and Sandra moved the family from the south suburbs to Lisle in 1976, spending over 40 years in Lisle while continuing to grow his company. Despite the long hours, he always found time for his love of vegetable gardening and wine making. He shared this love with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Family, friends and neighbors could always count on Joe for fresh vegetables during the summer and a bottle of wine at Christmas! Joe retired from JB concrete in 1998 to spend more time with his wife and family and continued gardening and wine making. He lost his beloved wife Sandra in 2012 and became a member of the Villa St. Benedict Community in 2018. Joe passed away peacefully on Good Friday April 18, 2025.
