I knew Jim for 30+ years. He was the best friend, father, husband, neighbor, advisor, etc. that one could ask for. There was no sadness, only a vision to make things better. I salute you for a job well done. RIP buddy. I won't forget our times together. Blue Skies.

I was sadden to hear of the passing of Mr Cheek. Though I have not seen him in years, he was always so smiling and kind.  Mrs Cheek, Cheek children and Ballard children and all of his grandchildren, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I use to jump with Jim.  What a great guy!  Could always count on Jim to be in a good mood and make others around him smile.  A real great guy!  A am glad I got to know him!!  My prayers are with his family!!

Dear Marge, we are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Barb & I have so many fond memories of him. I worked with Jim (The Red Fox)many times on various bands, including my own, the Jerry Lewis Quartet.  He went with us on American Legion Conventions with the Chicago Police Drum & Bugle Corps.  He was a card, mention party and Jim was always there with a big smile.I have a trove of photo's and movies of our various dress up parties. Barb & I will miss him. He is now playing with the Big Band.

TO Marge and the entire Cheek family, we extend our sincere condolences on the loss of Jim.  He was a longtime colleague of mine at the U.S. District Court upto our  respective retirements, and was always a friendly and loyal co-worker.  I fondly remember his stories when he was skydiving and his musical endeavors when he was on free time.  I know he will be missed by all.

Have many fond memories of Jim and his love for billiards he will be missed, but not forgotten
