Educated in Catholic Schools, graduated from St. Mel’s in Chicago, attended Quigley Prep Seminary and St. Anthony Prep in San Antonio, TX as well as Wright Junior College in Chicago. He spent 2 years in the United States Marine Corp of which he was very proud. Jim worked at Zenith Radio Engineering Department before joining Local #73 Sheet Metal Workers Union apprenticeship program. He was a journeyman sheet metal worker for 40 years until his retirement in 2000. He used skills learned over the years to help when needed, doing odd jobs like building sheds, fences and other remodeling projects. Many friends and neighbors knew him as kind and helpful, always available to help anyone in need. He was a loyal friend, loved by all who knew him. Jim’s warm smile will be greatly missed, especially by his family, who he dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
