John "Jack" Leninger, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, 78, passed away on January 31, 2026. Beloved Husband of Joyce (Hsu). Devoted Father of Amanda Delnero, Rebecca, and Sean. Proud Grandpa Jack of Julia Delnero. Loving Son of the late Francis and Ora (Bauer). Fond Brother of the late James. Uncle and Cousin of many.
Jack proudly served his country from 1968-1970, being deployed to Vietnam. He earned the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Two Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
Jack grew up in Hometown and Forest Park. He made a career as an Engineer, and worked for a time in Taiwan, where he met his lovely wife Joyce. They made a home in Bolingbrook, IL. Jack was the proud author of the book Time Heals No Wounds by Jack Leninger.
