Mary Roake-Barnett

Mary was a graduate of Saint Joan of Arc School, Lisle High School, and College of DuPage. She graduated from Benedictine University with her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, and later, Aurora University with her Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Mary had a long, fulfilling career as a Behavioral Therapist at Central DuPage Hospital. She could often be found walking the trails in the Morton Arboretum or swimming laps at the Meadows Pool. She was a lifelong parishioner at Saint Joan of Arc Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by her loving family; her husband of 31 years, Harold Barnett; three sons, Stephen (Jennifer) Roake IV, Christopher (Megan) Roake, and Brian (Arin Anderson) Roake; six grandchildren, Paris, Jacob, Gillian (Gigi), Lucas, Matthew, and Scarlett Roake; and her sister, Florence Novak.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Edwards; and her sister, Charlene Carrie of Mindoro, Wisconsin

A visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday November 18, 2021 at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30am on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 820 Division Street, Lisle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
