

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for William that will be held from 12 - 2 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Avenue, Lisle Illinois, 630-964-9392. Funeral services to follow at 2pm. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN.
Bill was born on Dec 27th, 1932 in Boston, MA to John and Frances Landry. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree. Bill then enlisted and served in the United States Army in Active Duty from 1955 to 1957, with an Honorable Discharge as a First Lieutenant in 1963.
Bill married Loretta Theresa Mank on Oct 10, 1953 in Chelsea, MA. Together, they raised a family and lived in many different areas of the country. For a majority of his career, he worked for Ronson and Magnetek, rising through the ranks working as an engineer and ultimately as a Vice President. Bill and Loretta enjoyed traveling around the world. Both were avid animal lovers and had many different animals through their life together. Bill was a sports fan, especially baseball and football. He also loved doing jigsaw puzzles and playing poker.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years and by his son Scott Mitchell. He is survived by sons William Anthony Landry (Sharon), Richard John Landry, Todd Andrew Landry, Adam Christopher Landry (Sarah); grandchildren, William Anthony Landry, Jr. (Madilyn), Megan Elizabeth Blizzard (Jeremiah), Nathan Kirby Landry (Josalynne), Joseph Kenan Landry (Kathryn), Hannah Elisa Landry, Stephen John Landry (Lily-Ann), Jaclyn Jean Landry, Richard Jeffery Landry (Natasha), Alex Landry (Amy), Melina Mejillas (Damian), Matthew Benjamin Landry, Kelley Ann Landry (Steven Freeberg), Christopher Adam Landry (Nicole), Ewan Cooper Landry, Nala Renee Ferguson, and 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on William’s behalf.
