Angela was born on September 9, 1956, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Robert Leo Byrne Sr. and Rose Marie Byrne. She was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Her faith was an important part of her life. Angela especially loved praying the rosary, which brought her comfort and strength. She also cherished watching the series, The Chosen, about the life of Christ.
She dedicated 37 years of service to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, working in Fraud Investigation, before retiring. Angela was known for her strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to helping others.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Leo and Zita Byrne; her maternal grandparents, Edward and Marie Winters; her beloved husband, Jackie Wayne Stacy; her son, Jackie (Jay) Wayne Stacy Jr.; her sister, Virginia (Ginny) Carlin; and her brother-in-law, Knute (Tony) Carlin.
She is survived by her siblings: Robert Byrne Jr. (Linda), Beverly Chidester (Kenny), Steven Byrne (Ernestine), Barbara Courtney (Buddy), and Brenda Byrne (Kym); her daughter-in-law, Christy Stacy; her cherished grandchildren, Cara and Ziggy; her brother-in-law, Jerry Stacy; her sister-in-law, Vickie Honeycutt; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Angela enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a love for true crime documentaries, puzzles, and game shows. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing slots. She truly treasured the simple pleasures in life.
During her 3 year journey with cancer, Angela created many special memories with her family including Tuesday Bowling, White Russian Wednesday, attending a Vince Gill concert, the amazing party planned by her son at Maumelle Park, Dirty Dancing at Robinson Auditorium, July 4th celebrations at the Riverfront Hotel, a Riverview Cabin sister getaway, a play at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse, and comedy nights at the Looney Bin. Each memory “may or may not have been” topped off with a shot of Fireball!
Angela had a heart of gold and was the rock and source of strength for so many in her life. Her love, resilience, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to CARTI Cancer Center and Arkansas Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
