
John Bridges Beall of Little Rock passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2015 at the age of 74. He was born to the late John S. Beall and Muzette E. Beall in Lockhart, Texas. John graduated from Snyder High School in 1957. He attended Hardin- Simmons College in Abilene, Texas graduating in 1960 with a BA in Economics and Political Science. He earned his Master’s degree in Economics in 1962. John joined the army in 1962 serving in Goppingen, Germany. There he met his wife, Agnes, who was teaching fourth grade for the armed forces. They married on December 18, 1965 in Concord, Vermont and moved to Dallas, Texas. They then moved to Little Rock in 1972. John worked for The Travelers Insurance Company for 28 years. He retired in 1994. He then worked for H&R Block for 10 years during tax season. John loved to travel. He and his wife, Agnes, took many trips to the Western States. Morro Bay, California was a favorite spot as well as all of Route 1 along the Pacific Coast. They also enjoyed the breath-taking mountain views in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada and many trips were taken through the years to Vermont to visit Agnes’s family. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Agnes Beall; his three sons, John Beall and his wife Stephanie of Little Rock, Michael Beall and his wife Lulu of Garland, Texas, and Matthew Beall and his wife Julie of Dallas, Texas. He was grandpa to four beautiful grandchildren Savannah, Chloe, Ethan, and Luke Beall. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. John’s family is very grateful to Baptist Health Hospice, especially Tina and Sheila. Their guidance was invaluable and will not be forgotten. We also wish to thank Father Jason Tyler and Deacon Danny Hartnedy for their visits with John and Agnes in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Catholic High School, 6300 Father Tribou Street, Little Rock, AR 72205, where John’s sons received an excellent education. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Chapel, 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock from 6-8 p.m. The graveside service will be private.
