

John retired as an engineer, June 6, 2009 after 37 years with the Little Rock Fire Department. He served 4 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on his aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Shangri-la in the Mediterranean Sea. He worked alongside his father and brothers in the family business, Hoffman Masonry Company. He owned Hoffman Arms for more than 2 decades, where he was a licensed fire arms distributor. During his younger years, he was an avid duck hunter. He enjoyed taking his grandson, Tanner, deer hunting in West Virginia.
John was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter, Kristin Wyland.
John is survived by his mother, Jean L Hoffman; his wife of 32 years, Peggy Hoffman; two daughters: Johnna Hoffman and Cheryl Terrano (Mike); four grand children: Jessica, Jennifer, Rachel and Tanner; 2 great-granddaughters: Brooklynn and Emery; and two brothers: Tom Hoffman (Vicki) and Tobey Hoffman (Becky).
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m.,Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the burn unit at Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Camp Sunshine.
