My and Katie's paths crossed after she left the Highway Department, and when we discovered she and my husband had the same July 13 birthday, we knew it was "meant to be" they did.  About the same time I found out I was going to be a mother for the first time, Katie discovered she was going to be a grandmother for the first time.  She was a highly-valued part of our family for many years until she left Mabelvale and moved to Haskell. She'll forever remain in our hearts and leaves many dear memories.  Deepest condolences to Sherry, Sarah, and all others who grieve her loss.

Katie was always a kind, caring ,person. I can remember her standing on the front steps pf First Baptist Church with grandma and Clayton. We have kept in touch all these years and I was amazed that she had good memory and such a bright mind.
Love Nancy Lillian.

Katie was a wonderful step-mother to me and my sisters when we were quite young. Though divorce broke the legal ties, nothing broke the family ties for Katie. Once you were her family you were always her family-that's how a big, loving heart like hers works! Thank you, Katie!
Sherry, Sarah and Karen - so sad for your loss, but grateful that you can carry her with you always in your hearts!
