I've never known of another man who truly was a stalwart in everything he did and every life he touched. I will never forget him.  He was like a father figure for me and I'll never forget him.  Please know that I send my thoughts, prayers, and love to you all.

So sorry for the loss of your dear husband and Dad.  What a nice man he was, so quiet and gentle. We will treasure our years as neighbors in Leawood  and remember the fun our kids had at your pool.  Love to you all!

Dear Jerry, Perry, Terry and Aunt Leainne,
OMG! What can I say...I was just last week telling Jerry how lucky he was to still have his parents and now Uncle Sonny is gone!  I AM SO SAD and SOOO SAD for YOU!  Yes, you ALL are always like family to me.  My parents always told us kids to address their dear friends as Aunt and Uncle. And truly my Aunt Leainne and Uncle Sonny WERE Family. I recall one of the last times I came in to Little Rock, Aunt Leainne picked me up at the airport with barely a moment's notice. 
    I am sitting here with SO MANY memories flashing in my mind, like swimming in your backyard pool, my mother sitting at the kitchen table with her morning coffee making calls to check up on her best buddies like Leainne. My mother learned, and taught me as well, about being a good citizen of Arkansas and especially about volunteering from your mother and father. In grammar school she had me walking the streets to get donations for the many illnesses I could barely pronounce. 
  Always at the beck and call of the schul's rabbi and the men's club, gently but enthusiasticly coaxing folks to give blood, I will ALWAYS think of Uncle Sonny as Mr. Little Rock, Mr. Schul.  When I think of home my fond feelings are of the Cohens, the Schweigs, the Spectors, the Nussbaums, the Brams, the Zenos.  I was lucky AND OLD enough to remember Uncle Charlie Cohen and Aunt Sophie.  Your family made Agudas Achim.  

   I am SO VERY grateful for your father, my Uncle Sonny, for allowing me to live in Little Rock with a feeling of safety and calm.  I NEVER can imagine him with a temper, but ALWAYS the calm one, whether at the site of tornado damage or the Razorback football game at War Memorial Stadium.  I think of him fishing...Funny, though I never think of him and feet. LOL! And I just found out in the obit that he was a treasured Korean Veteran!
    Please know my heart is breaking with and for you. Our world has lost a dear, noble,gentle giant of a man.
May HASHEM give you comfort amongst the mourners of Tzion.

Dr. Cohen was a devoted Red Cross volunteer in disaster and in leadership positions on the Board of Directors. He didn't have to be asked...he would just show up when he knew there was a need. Usually Mrs. Cohen and Jerry would be right there with him.  He was a great leadership mentor and role model to me personally, as well as, the hundreds he touch through his voluntering and as a health professional. He will be sorely missed.

Jerry....on behalf of our volunteers and staff, please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Dr. Cohen and your entire family were exceptional supporters and faithful volunteers of the American Red Cross  for many years and we remain deeply grateful.  May fond memories of your Dad put smiles on your faces for years to come.

I am so sorry to hear about his passing.  He was like a father figure to me and influenced me in so many ways when I was a young man in my teens and 20's.  My thoughts and prayers are with Jerry and his entire family.

Dr. Cohen was such a nice man.  He was my Dr. for years and he was always so kind.  Please accept my sympathy.

So sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Cohen, he lead such a full and productive life that benefited so many.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the Cohen family.

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Marvin's family. My Mom (the late Lonnie Sue Dean) and I both were patients of his. Such a great Podiatrist and the nicest person. Again, my sympathy.
