

Norma Louise (Gorman) Wilson passed quietly on September 16, 2017, surrounded by family and loved ones in Little Rock. Born on July 29, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Charles Vernon and Mary Campbell Gorman. Norma and her sister, Barbara (“Bobbie”) Ann grew up in Houston, Texas. Norma and Samuel Hardy Wilson married in 1951 and raised three sons: Charles Sinclair (“Guy”), Steven Douglas and Richard Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Richard, and she is survived by sons Guy (Donna) and Steve (Janet); daughter-in-law Cindy Wilson; seven grandchildren (Judson, Taylor, Blake, Jessica, Hannah, Mandy and Jeannie); six great-grandchildren (Bryce, Ella, Samuel, Hudson, Lennon, Barrett); five nieces (Debbie Wirges [Charlie Wirges], Marian States [John States], Linda Sharp [Bob Joblin], Peggy Pursell [Kent Pursell] and Kathleen Pursell), whom she loved as daughters; and, Paul Thomas, a dear family friend whose daily visits were a source of fun and joy. When her sister Bobbie moved to Little Rock and married Raymond Byrne, Norma visited often to be with her Arkansas family. After her husband’s death, Norma moved to Little Rock to be with her extended family. A lover of life, family and Frank Sinatra, Norma was known for having fun, laughing, dancing and happy hour. After moving to Arkansas, she enjoyed adventures with her nieces and Sunday dances at the Arlington Hotel. Norma was always upbeat, graceful and elegant in life and her positive attitude was infectious. She is missed already. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Griffin Leggett on 12th Street. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in North Little Rock, followed by internment at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood.
