LIFE'S JOURNEY

Odira B. Campbell Halbert, a devoted woman of faith went to be with her heavenly father on

Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 90. She was born to Johnnie and Marzella Campbell on April 28, 1930, in Morrilton, AR. She was preceded in death by both parents, her loving husband of 55 years, Jewel Halbert, sisters: Ruth Ann Campbell, Mattie Campbell, Genoa Dunbar, Maedella Farr, Pauline Dunbar, Maxine V. Byrd and her brother, Howard Campbell.

Odira leaves to celebrate her life: her sister, Catherine White of Boston, MA; her brother, David Pierre of Morrilton, AR; her daughters Deborah Love (Wayne) of North little Rock AR, Darlita Ricks (Dwayne), and her son Donald Halbert, of little Rock, AR. She also leaves six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of family and friends.

Odira worked at Westinghouse lightning for over twenty years before retiring. She also attended South Central College for Interior Design and little Rock Vocational School for Floral Design. After graduating, she worked for Torrence Flower Shop and other little Rock flower shops. She later opened her own floral business in her home where she designed floral arrangements for individuals, weddings and other occasions.

Odira was a faithful and dedicated member of Lee Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in North little Rock, AR, for over fifty years until her health began failing her and she transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home. During her membership at Lee Chapel she was a very active member. She was a Steward, Stewardess, Trustee, Lay Organization, Beautification Club, Finance Committee, Missionary Society, Senior Choir and Gospel Choir. She was also an active member of the Arkansas Conference WMS.

Open visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock (01) 661-9111. Committal service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 151 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR 72120 With Rev. Marcia Burns officiating.
