

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Lee Hood, and was a widow for 39 years.
Shirley lived a life marked by dedication, independence, and a deep love for animals. She worked for many years as a transcriptionist and manicurist, professions that reflected both her precision and her care for others.
Her greatest pride and passion was her lifelong love of dogs. Shirley founded the highly successful Shir-Lee’s Pekingese Kennel, where she bred and raised several champion show dogs. Her commitment, knowledge, and affection for the breed earned her respect within the dog-show community and brought her immense personal joy.
Above all, Shirley cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Cline (Curt Cline) and Lynnette Flynn (Russell Flynn); her stepsons, Randal Lee Hood and Rick Howard Hood (Cory Hood); and her grandchildren, Christopher Seamon, Phillip Garcia Jr., and Debra Dawn Seamon. She was preceded in death by her grandson, James Shawn Seamon.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Amelia Seamon, Tori Seamon, Alyssa Nicholas, Tyler Nicholas, and Lillian Paige Garcia, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
Final services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, located on 12th Street.
Shirley Ann Hood will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and the enduring legacy she built through her love of animals and those she held dear.
