

Anthony R. Colasanti, 90, a resident of Bloomfield for more than 70 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Anthony was a graduate of Central High and later was enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, Anthony gained employment at the U.S. Postal Service, where he eventually became the Assistant to the Postmaster, before his retirement. Anthony had many hobbies that he was fond of, especially opera, gardening, travel, history, and was a big movie buff. Out of all his hobbies, spending time with his family brought him the most joy.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Rosa Colasanti (Borelli), and his siblings Norma Sparno, Maria Avallone, and Teresa Griesi. He is survived by his brother-in-law Thomas Sparno, his loving niece and nephew Thomas Sparno (Lynn) and Kimberly Sternberg (Perry), as well as his cherished great-nieces and nephews, Alexa, Olivia, Thomas Joseph (TJ), Luke and Alexandra.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31 from 8-9 AM at the LaMonica Memorial Home, Livingston, NJ. Funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, August 31 at 9:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield. Entombment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
